Guidance to Feel Grounded in Your Growth Zone

As your coach, I will help you develop the skills and vision you need to live a brave and authentic life.

You might have a deep knowing that there’s something more out there for you, but need some guidance and support. Or perhaps, you are navigating through a major life transition and experiencing a lot of stress, fear, or doubt.

I have been there myself and can support you to create a sustainable plan of action and take steps toward your goals.

I am a Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and a yoga + mindfulness teacher. My job is to listen to you and act as a strategic thinking partner to help you get to where you want to go.

What Is Coaching?

Coaching is a partnership and process of discovery that cultivates awareness around strengths, values and goals. Coaching is about empowerment and growth and tends to be future-focused and goal-oriented. Through the coaching process, clients gain clarity, see new possibilities, cast a vision, and take gradual steps toward positive change.

The coaching process includes:

Setting Goals

A strong goal is flexible, meaningful, tied to your values and strengths, and prepared to address obstacles.

Exploring Possibilities

My role is to help you see what’s possible. We will explore a range of ways your goals can be achieved and wrap up each session with one or two new action steps to try.

Motivation & Accountability

Building new habits takes intention and dedication. I will be by your side, encouraging you and holding you accountable.

What Other Clients Say

“Nicole was a patient and kind coach who supported me to develop greater self-awareness, curiosity and openness. Anyone interested in embarking on a life-changing journey of self-discovery and growth, shifting their perception, and wishing for a feeling of greater empowerment and sense of direction would benefit from receiving coaching from Nicole. As a result of Nicole’s guidance, I now have my eyes wide open to a life beyond the day-to-day sleep/work/sleep mode I was in before.”

― Lisbet K

“Nicole was supportive, knowledgeable, and caring during the entirety of the 14-Day Reset Cleanse and I felt confident that I could complete the task at hand.  I was extremely impressed with both her understanding of and ability to speak to a wide variety of topics that we were interested in learning more about.  It was evident that Nicole takes her own health and wellness seriously and that she wants to help others lead more healthy lives.  I finished the cleanse with a deeper understanding of my own body and I feel able to make impactful decisions as I continue to improve my overall health.”

How Will We Work Together?

The following pillars are integral to my approach as a coach:

Mind Body Integration

Physical and emotional health are inter-connected. Our brains and bodies interact in complex ways and are in constant communication.

Whole Person Approach

When we work together, I see you as a multi-faceted being who is already whole. Rather than focus on one area as a silo, we will look to see how all areas of your body and life are inter-connected.

Growth Mindset

A growth mindset is the understanding that traits and abilities can be developed with practice. Those with a growth mindset believe that they can get smarter, more skillful, and more talented through putting in time and effort.

Cultural Detox

We all exist in a toxic culture that oppresses our spirit and leads us to believe that our value is only in our productivity. We will excavate and unlearn harmful cultural conditioning that gets in the way of our wellness.

Self-Compassion

According to Dr. Kristin Neff, self-compassion is a self-attitude that involves treating oneself with warmth and understanding in difficult times and recognizing that making mistakes is part of being human.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention in the present moment on purpose and without judgment. It is a way of seeing things just as they are while cultivating deeper presence.

Slowness

Slowing down allows us to pay attention, to feel, and to cultivate a sense of patience. It also allows us to move in a more intentional and less hurried way, which is necessary for healing and course-correcting.

Resilience

Resilience is the capacity to adapt to and be transformed by difficulty. It is also the self-assuredness that one can grow through tough situations. This courage and confidence stems from developing an inner steadiness and strong sense of self-trust.

Fitting Out

Fitting out is the opposite of fitting in. It invites us to know who we are and belong to ourselves and no one else.

Somatic Skills

Simple somatic skills will be integrated throughout our sessions to build sensory awareness, presence, and ease in the body and mind. Examples include intentional breathing, gentle movement, tapping, and self-massage.

My Story

Hierve al Agua, Oaxaca Mexico, Jan. 2017
Lost my job unexpectedly in late 2016, went to Mexico, came back and started my business.

The truth of the matter is that I have never really fit in anywhere. For many years, this caused me to feel stressed out and ashamed and to think that there was something wrong with me.

The apex of me trying to fit in was when I decided to go to business school in 2011. As soon as I got there, I realized that I had probably made a big mistake. Luckily, I don’t believe in mistakes, and can now see that going to business school was the exact experience that I needed to get honest with myself.

Getting through business school and then trying to get a “business job” after graduation caused me so much stress and burnout that I eventually found my way to yoga and mindfulness.

My yoga studio in DC became my sanctuary and community. I felt safe and seen there, and slowly, I began to see myself. I learned new skills so I could sit with the discomfort of being with myself and seeing all of the layers of external conditioning that had been piled on top of me.

Over time, I began to slough those extra layers off and get clearer and clearer on who I was and who I was not. I gave myself permission to fit out rather than fit in and started my own business so I could follow my passions and gifts. I learned to accept myself and feel proud of myself.

With this self-acceptance came confidence, vision, and determination. I designed a new life for myself that felt aligned with who I am and what I value. I integrated all the parts of my curvy life path that I previously thought were failures. I learned to belong to myself.

My journey has been one of alchemy. Alchemizing fears into courage, doubt into confidence, shyness into leadership, staying small into taking up space, and re-writing shameful old stories into empowering new ones.

I now know who I am and live a life that feels authentic, creative, and brave. I no longer worry about fitting in because fitting out brings me so much more satisfaction. I now understand that there was never anything wrong with me, I just couldn’t see things clearly.

I am forever grateful for the trusted teachers and guides who shone a light on my path and empowered me to be myself.

As your coach, I will support you to do this too. I will reflect your light back to you until you can see it yourself.  I will guide you to alchemize your fears into courage, creativity, and possibility. I will add structure and strategy to the vision you cast for yourself and support you as you take your first steps toward designing the life you want and deserve.
